From Mexico Memories to the Daily Grind: Family Travel, Small Business Growth, and Real Estate Momentum

By Rachael Giffen · February 1, 2026

There’s something about traveling that resets your perspective and our recent trip to Mexico did exactly that. It was the perfect mix of adventure, family memories, incredible food, and much needed relaxation. Now we’re back home, refreshed and ready to grind again.

Making Family Memories in Mexico 🌴

Our Mexico trip was packed with experiences that each of us will remember for a long time. We made it a priority to unplug, be present, and soak in every moment together.

One of the highlights of the trip was parasailing. Oliver loved it so much that he didn’t just go once… he went twice. Seeing him light up while flying above the ocean was one of those core memory moments you don’t forget as a parent.

We also went whale watching, which turned into a full family adventure. Gordon quickly became the expert lookout, scanning the water and calling out every splash and fin. There’s nothing quite like seeing whales in their natural habitat, it’s humbling, exciting, and unforgettable.

Then came snorkeling, where Kaleb was in his element. He spotted colorful tropical fish and couldn’t stop talking about them afterward. Watching your kids experience the world with curiosity and excitement is one of the best parts of traveling.

Of course, there was also lots of swimming, sunshine, and some truly amazing food. Mexico never disappoints when it comes to fresh flavors, relaxing beach days, and that slower pace that reminds you to breathe.

Back Home and Back to the Grind 💪

As amazing as vacation is, there’s something grounding about coming home. We returned rested, inspired, and ready to get back to work, because building a life you love doesn’t stop when the trip ends.

Between family life, business goals, and long-term plans, it’s always a balancing act. Travel gives us the energy to refocus and push forward, and that’s exactly what we’re doing now.

SweetHeat Homestead: What’s Next 🌶️🍯

We’re excited to share that SweetHeat Homestead has been invited to a vendor fair, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the continued support and excitement around our products. This is a big step for our small business, and we’re looking forward to connecting with the community in person.

We’re also actively working on restocking, so stay tuned for more updates coming soon. If you’ve been waiting for your favorites to come back, they’re on the way. Supporting small businesses means the world to us, and we can’t wait to share what’s next.

Real Estate Is Still Growing 📈

While we’ve been making memories and growing SweetHeat Homestead, real estate is still moving and still growing. Whether you’re thinking about buying, selling, or just curious about the market, now is always a good time to have a conversation.

Life comes with curveballs, big decisions, and exciting changes. Having a real estate professional who understands that and understands the local market, can make all the difference.

If you’re looking for guidance, strategy, or someone to walk you through the process with honesty and heart, I’m here.
